5/28/2023 0 Comments Asus q fan control![]() Because the CPU fan was spinning so fast, the CPU didn't get hot enough for the casefans ever to do anything. So my problem is pretty much that the balance of cooling is bad. MB temperature has little or no influence. So apparently Q-Fan does work, but it seems to rely on CPU temperature. ![]() They did, but not until the CPU hit about 60C or so. I pulled the CPU fan out, to get the system hot, so I could see the casefans responding. Well, I've flashed in the old bios, and did some testing. It just runs at full speed all the time (the Intel fan control worked fine).Įither through the proper BIOS setting/proper BIOS version, or with some kind of PWM-to-DC adapter that I can plug between fan and motherboard? However, I cannot find such a setting in my BIOS (latest version, 1101), and apparently it doesn't autodetect that it's not a PWM-fan either. On DC it works fine and is controlled by Asus' Q-Fan technology. with 975x chipset anyway.Īnd in his BIOS he has a setting for the fan control, PWM or DC. However, the Zalman, like many aftermarket coolers, only has a 3-pin connector, and therefore cannot be controlled through PWM.Īnyway, my brother has the same fan, but he has another board, an Asus P5W2-Premium or something to that effect. They are controlled via a pulse signal, known as PWM. The Intel fans have 4-pin connectors as most of you probably know. Okay, I've just replaced my stock Intel fan with a Zalman CNPS7700-Cu.
